John Robert Hoff, affectionately known to his many as Johnny Bob, departed this life in St. Clair, MO, on February 3, 2016, having reached the age of seventy-six years, two months and three days. John was born in St. Clair on November 30, 1939, son of Harold Eugene Hoff, Sr. and Mary Alma Marie Hoff nee McCrary. On June 2, 1963, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Matilda Scott and one son came to bless this union.

John is survived by his wife, Joyce Hoff of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Bill Hoff and wife, Olga, of Fruit Heights, UT; by two grandchildren, Willie and Matthew Hoff of Fruit Heights; by three sisters, Joan Burnett and husband, Ken, of St. Clair, Libby Reed of Washington, MO and Carol Rae Todisman and husband, Jim, of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr. and Mary Hoff; by three brothers, Harold E. Hoff, Jr., known to most as Bud, Richard L. Hoff and infant William Hoff, and by three sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Fern Baqir and Helen Jean Russell Redhage.

John was a Christian and life long member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. He was employed by the St. Clair R-13 School District working in the custodial and maintenance department, retiring after twenty plus years of service to the district. John was a fixer and he enjoyed working in his shop, fixing and building things. He loved gospel music and enjoyed singing with his family at family gatherings. He was truly a family man at heart and nothing made him happier than the time spent with his family. Bill and his family were his pride and joy and he cherished their time together.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
