Richard Lynn Eckert, Jr. of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on December 2, 2013, having reached the age of forty-four years, one month and six days. Richard was born in Newberg, MO on October 26, 1969, son of Richard Lynn Eckert, Sr. and Linda Mae Eckert nee Tayloe. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three children. Ten years ago he began sharing his life with Christine Dawn Love. They were united in marriage on June 7, 2013, and their families were joined as one.

Richard is survived by his wife, Christine Eckert of St. Clair, MO; by his children, Alecia Allen and husband, Joshua, of Sullivan, MO, Judy Eckert and boyfriend, Nathan, of St. James, MO and Kimberly Eckert of St. James; by his step-children, Jessica Perkins and Jonathan Perkins, both of St. Clair; by his grandchildren, JayLynn White of St. Clair, Brayden Johnson of Sullivan, MO, Maggie Allen of Sullivan and expected baby girl Perkins of St. Clair; by his father, Richard Eckert, Sr. of Jerome, MO; by his brother, Thomas Eckert and wife, Barb, of Sullivan; by his sisters, Carolyn Ross and husband, Brian, of Rolla, MO and Sandra Tidd and husband, Glen, of West Lafayette, OH; by his parents-in-law, Walter and Sandra Love of Sullivan; by his former wife, Vicki May Eckert of Bourbon, MO; by brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Eckert.

Richard was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the Lord as his Savior. He was employed by Par-Way Tryson Company in St. Clair, MO, working in the packaging department and also as a forklift operator.. Richard had a variety of interests throughout his life; including playing cards and watching television. What meant most to Richard was time spent with his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, as he did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services were held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at The Rock Church in Sullivan, MO, with Pastor Leroy officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. The family of Richard Lynn Eckert, Jr. entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
