Robert Donald Wideman, known to most as Bob, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair, surrounded by the love of his family, on July 15, 2012, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, eight months and fourteen days. Bob was born in Allenton, MO on October 31, 1933, son of Wesley Wideman and Rose Wideman nee Whitworth. As a young man he was united in marriage to Marie Imogene Hampton and four children came to bless this union.

Bob is survived by three children, Donald Wideman, known to most as Bobby Ray, and wife, Teri, of Cedar Hill, MO, Donna Marie Bennett and husband, Mike, of Hillsboro, MO and Diane Crump of Hillsboro; by his special friend, Laura Stahlman of St. Clair; by three siblings, Shirley Corey of Rolla, MO, Ken Wideman of St. Clair and Gene Wideman and wife, Jeanie, of Farmington, MO; by his sister-in-law, Carol Wideman of St. Louis, MO; by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, niece, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Rose Wideman; by his son, Robert Donald Wideman; by his former wife, Marie Imogene Wideman; and by one brother, Wes Wideman.

Bob was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith. He was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation, retiring after forty-two years of service. Raising cattle was Bobís passion and going to cattle auctions was his favorite pastime. He made many friends at the auctions and made a lot of great memories. Nothing made Bob happier than the time spent with his family. Each of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, just as he did in their hearts.

A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great and great-great-grandfather, special friend, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Chauncey Clay officiating. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery, Lonedell, MO.
