Robert Edward Whited, known to most as Andy, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO on February 26, 2012 having reached the age of seventy-two years, five months and twenty five days. Andy was born in Ironton, MO on August 31, 1939 son of Delbert Edward Whited and Dorothy Louise Whited nee Marler. On March 30, 1963, he was united in marriage to Martha Orlean Inman and two children were born of this union.

Andy is survived by his wife, Martha Whited of St. Clair; by three children, Robert “Bud” Whited and wife, Laura, Anthony “Tony” Whited and wife, Sarah, and Donald “Donnie” Bumann all of St. Clair; by his grandchildren, Heather Whited, Christopher Walther and Dylan and Noah Whited all of St. Clair; by one great-grandchild, Lainey Walther of St. Clair; by his brother, Frank “Butch” Whited and wife, Sue, of St. Clair; by one sister, Margaret Whited of Ironton, MO; by brothers and sisters-in-law, one uncle, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Dorothy Whited; and by one brother, Delbert Emmett Whited.

Andy was a Christian and member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Ironton, MO. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army having entered April 9, 1963 and receiving his honorable discharge on April 8, 1965. During his working years he was employed by Daimler Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, retiring after twenty seven years of employment. He was also a retiree of the United Auto Workers, Local 136 of St. Louis, MO. Andy was an outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed spending time cutting grass, gardening and working on cars. He was a handyman that could fix anything that needed fixing. Above all else, he was a family man at heart and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren gave him great joy.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Darren Perkins officiating. Interment with full military honors was held in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
