Alvin Lewis Hall of Lonedell, MO departed this life in St. Clair, MO on February 2, 2012, having reached the age of seventy-six years, one month and twenty-four days. Alvin was born on December 9, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, son of Willie Hall and Pearlin Hall nee Lott. On November 10, 1956 he was united in marriage to Carol Agnes Mohl and five children came to bless this union.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Carol Hall of Lonedell, MO; by four children, Phillip Hall and wife, Tammie, of Lonedell, Chrissy Hasenbeck and husband, Paul, of Eureka, MO, Andy Hall of Lonedell and Allen Hall of Lonedell; by four grandchildren, Brandy Winchester of Lonedell, Willie Hall and wife, Emily, of Union, MO, Melissa Hasenbeck and fiancé, Mikell Burkhardt, of St. Charles, MO and Matthew Hasenbeck of Eureka; by four great grandchildren, Jaden, Charlie, Harmony and Brandyn Winchester of Lonedell; by one aunt, Grace Barham of Lake St. Louis, MO; by one nephew, Michael Parkinson of O’Fallon, MO; by cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearlin Hall; by one daughter, Ellen Marie Hall; by one brother, Elvin Hall; and by one sister, Georgia Lanham.

Alvin was a Christian of the Baptist faith, believing in the Lord as his savior. He was employed by General Motors Corporation in St. Louis where he worked in the paint department, retiring after thirty-two years of service. He was also a retiree of the United Auto Workers of St. Louis, MO. Alvin was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, entering March 17, 1954 and receiving his honorable discharge on September 20, 1954, after which he served in the reserves until March 31, 1962.. Alvin loved the outdoors, going hunting, fishing and doing various work in the yard. He also enjoyed working on old trucks and doing maintenance around his home. Watching his boys wrestling gave him great joy. Most of all, Alvin loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and the many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, nephew, uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Ronnie Raven officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to the family.
