Norman William Hanneken of Union, MO, formerly Robertsville, MO, departed this life in Union on August 15, 2009, having reached the age of eighty-two years, four months and nine days. Norman was born in Robertsville on April 6, 1927, son of John Ben Hanneken and Lydia Elizabeth Hanneken nee Ziegerer. He was blessed to have three sisters.

Norman is survived by two sisters, Elsie Henderson Stahlman of St. Clair, MO and Laverne Nelson of Green Bay WI; by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Hanneken; and by one sister, Christine Reed.

Norman was baptized in the Catholic faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church near Robertsville as an infant. He remained an innocent child throughout his life and he loved to talk about his “Pop’s” tractors and horses that he loved so well. Coloring and drawing pictures of the tractors and horses was his favorite pastime. He was always happy to see his family when they came to visit and he remained a joy to everyone.

A sweet and loving brother, uncle, great and great-great uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who loved him.
