On September 11, 1948, she was united in marriage to Maurice Leslie “Mo” Burnett and one son came to bless this union.

Irmalee is survived by her son, Keith Burnett and wife, Grace, of St. Clair; by two granddaughters, Tina Glass and husband, Daniel, of Brentwood, MO and Tiffany Burnett of St. Clair; by one great-grandson, Judas Daniel Glass of Brentwood; by two sisters, Dorris Buerger of Washington, MO and Alberta Schallenberg and husband, Bob, of O’Fallon, MO; by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Irmalee was a Christian and life long member of Prospect Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. As a young woman she was employed at various jobs in the St. Clair area, including International Shoe Company, The Pipe Factory and Pursley’s U-Save Mart, but for most of her life, she made caring for her home and family her career. She enjoyed doing needle work and canvas needlepoint was her favorite. Going on family camping trips and gardening were other favorite pastimes. Irmalee enjoyed listening to Blue Grass music and she and Maurice often went to Blue Grass festivals. Above all else, Irmalee was happiest when spending time with her family and her granddaughters were her pride and joy.

A kind, sweet and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
