OBITUARY

Ronald Lee Bailey, known to some as Ron and to others as Beetle, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on April 15, 2021, having reached the age of seventy-six years and seventeen days. Ron was born in St. Clair, MO, son of Ethel Marie Bailey. As a young man, he was united in marriage and blessed to have two sons. In 1989, he began sharing his life with Linda Lou Becker nee Gamble and they were united in marriage in 2003.

Ron is survived by his son, Jerry Bailey and Jeff Bailey and wife, Beth, all of St. Clair, MO; by two grandchildren, Amy Green and husband, Ryan, of Lonedell, MO and Alex Bailey and fiancé, Zach Miller of St. Clair; by three great-grandchildren, Emerson and Silas Green of Lonedell and Jared Miller of St. Clair; by two aunts, Nellie Davis of St. Clair and Eileen Struck of Pensacola, FL; by many cousins and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Claude Murdick, and by his wife, Linda Bailey.

Ron was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith at First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During most of his working years, he was employed as a manager for Schatz Underground Cable. Since his retirement, he enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He was a talented craftsman and enjoyed woodworking. Going fishing and hunting with his sons was his favorite pastime and many wonderful memories were created. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A devoted and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, nephew, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, MO. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
