Dennis Emanuel May of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Louis, MO, on March 17, 2021, having reached the age of sixty-nine years, two months and ten days. Dennis was born on January 7, 1952, in Badger, Newfoundland, Canada, son of Archibald Rayburn May and Amelia Grace May nee Peddle. On October 3, 1975, he was united in marriage to Linda Sue Richardson and three sons came to bless this union.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda May of St. Clair, MO; by his sons, Dennis R. J. May and wife, Katie, TSgt Brian May, USAF and Kevin May, all of St. Clair; by five siblings, Eric May and wife, Ann, of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Dorothy Wight and husband, Jim, of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Millie Lodger and a husband, Clarence, of Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland, Elizabeth Poole and husband, Claude, and Paula Bridgar and husband, Woodrow, both of Badger, Newfoundland; by five grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Archibald and Amelia May, and by two siblings, Harvey May and Ethel Bruns.

Dennis was a Christian of the Pentecostal faith, believing in the Lord as his Savior. After completing his education, Dennis served in the Canadian Armed Forces, entering July 10, 1970 and receiving his honorable discharge on August 23, 1975. After moving to St. Clair, Dennis became a patriotic United States Citizen and was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 347 and VFW Post 2482, both in St. Clair. He was employed in the building maintenance department at Boeing in St. Louis, MO, retiring after thirty-five years of service to the company. Dennis loved outdoor activities, including hunting, four-wheel riding, and barbequing. He was a very kind and generous man that would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His sons were his pride and joy and he was happiest when he was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. David Godat officiating. Entombment was in the Haven of Rest Mausoleum at Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Gary Sinise foundation.
