Shirley Maude Waldo of Lonedell, MO, departed this life in St. Clair, MO, on September 14, 2018, having reached the age of ninety-one years and twenty-eight days. Shirley was born in St. Louis, MO, daughter of Arthur Charles Fink I and Maude Jenny Fink nee Dohack. On October 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Russell Waldo and three children came to bless this union.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Linda Rucker of Lonedell, MO, Mary Wright of the The Villages, FL and Nancy Russell and companion, Tom Reed, of Lonedell; by her grandchildren, Adam Rucker and wife, Heather, of St. Clair, MO, Brad Rucker and wife, Marcie, of Lonedell, Tema Mueller-Boigner and husband, Brian, of Atlanta, GA, Tyson Mueller and wife, Heaven, of Ft. Mill, SC, Tamra Mueller of New York, NY, Beth Devine and husband, Conor, of Denver, CO, Jennifer Bush and husband, Jared, of St. Clair and Sarah Russell of Washington, MO; she was like a grandma to Claire DeMello of Sullivan, MO; by one brother, Arthur C. Fink II and wife, Laverne, of Lonedell; by one sister-in-law, Charlotte Fink of Ballwin, MO; by fifteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur, I and Maude Fink; by her husband, Russell Waldo; by two son-in-laws, Kenneth Rucker and Dan Wright, and by one brother, Eric Fink.

Shirley was a Christian and member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Clair, MO. She had lived an active life and in her younger years, had been a member and Past President of Lonedell R-14 PTA, member and Past President of the Franklin County Home Economics Council and was a life time member of 4-H and past 4-H leader. She always welcomed her daughter’s friends in her home and made her famous pots of chili for them. She had enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life. As a young woman she enjoyed riding horses, learning to water ski, even though she couldn't swim, work in the yard and flower beds and spending time at the creek. For many years, she enjoyed going to Lake of the Ozarks and entertaining friends and family there. Sewing was another hobby, having made clothes for her girls. She was talented at doing embroidery and was proud to have embroidered quilt blocks for her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With Shirley behind the wheel, she and Russ had traveled extensively in their RV, creating many lasting memories. Feeding and watching the birds was a favorite pastime. Caring for her home and family, especially Russell, who was the love of her life, gave her great joy and she always did a remarkable job.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Laura Mignerone officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 347 of St. Clair or to St. John United Church of Christ, St. Clair, MO.
