OBITUARY

Derek Edward Crow of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home on January 14, 2017, having reached the age of twenty-eight years, four months and sixteen days. Derek was born in Sullivan, MO, on August 28, 1988, son of Lori Ann Crow nee Wilson and Bret Alan Crow.

Derek is survived by his parents, Lori Gratzer and husband, Bill, of St. Clair, MO and Bret Alan Crow and girlfirend, Chandra Lanier, of St. Clair; by one brother, Taylor Crow and girlfriend, Nina Tweedy, of St. Clair; by his grandparents, Norma Crow of Union, MO, Christine Jenkerson and husband, Dale, and Roy Wilson and wife, Sharon, all of St. Clair; by his niece, Malia Crow of St. Clair; by his girlfriend, Christian Daniels of St. Clair: by four step-brothers, Mike Gratzer and wife, Jenna, Jared Gratzer and wife, Jennifer, Jason Gratzer and wife, Leslie, and Dane Gratzer and wife, Rose, all of St. Clair; b y aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles, step-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Derek was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Crow

. Derek was a Christian, having accepted the Lord as his Savior and being Baptized at a young age at First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. He attended St. Clair Public School and graduated from St. Clair High School in 2007. Derek was a sports enthusiast and participated in sports throughout his school years. He was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Blues hockey team, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team. He loved animals and wanted to pursue further education to become a veterinarian technician. Derek loved spending time outdoors and hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes. He was a great golfer and enjoyed playing with family and friends. Derek's family were all special to him and spending time with his niece, Malia, was a favorite pastime. Derek's loving and giving personality are traits that his family will miss and hold dear with his memory forever.

A kind and loving son, step-son, grandson, brother, step-brother, uncle, step-uncle, nephew, great-nephew, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. John Hampton, Jr. officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
