OBITUARY

Brian Keith Courtway of St. Clair, MO, departed this life suddenly in Washington, MO, on July 29, 2016, having reached the age of forty-eight years, one month and six days. Brian was born in Washington on June 23, 1968, son of Raymond Junior Courtway and Mary Jeannette Courtway nee Birmingham. As a young man, he was blessed to have a son. On February 20, 1993, he was united in marriage to Lesley Marie Bumann and two children came to bless this union.

Brian is survived by his wife, Lesley Courtway of St. Clair; by his daughters, Natasha Maisel and husband, Brian, Jr., and Shawna Courtway all of St. Clair; by his parents, Raymond Courtway and wife, Lorraine, of Union, MO and Mary Birmingham of Robertsville, MO; by his father-in-law, Vincent Bumann and wife, Sherry, of Hillsboro, MO; by his grandchildren, Brayden and Hayden Maisel and Ashlynn Butler all of St. Clair; by three brothers, Eddie Courtway of Union, MO, Carl Courtway and wife, Sue, of Union and Billy Courtway and wife, Glenna, of Richwoods, MO; by two sisters, Frieda Messex and companion, Kevin Oshia, of Sullivan, MO and Melody Hulsey of Robertsville; by aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his son, Charles Wesley Lewis, and by his mother-in-law, Margaret Inmann.

Brian had lived in St. Clair, MO, throughout his life. He was employed by Carl Burns Asphalt Company as a foreman and was proud to have been with the company for almost twenty years. Brian was very patriotic and was a member of VFW Post 2482 Auxiliary in St. Clair, MO. He was an outgoing man that knew no stranger and enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SR. Spending time on the river, fishing, kayaking, hunting and visiting with friends, were favorite pastimes. He was truly a family man at heart and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family and many wonderful memories have been created.

A loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Darren Perkins officiating. Interment was in Anaconda Community Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to VFW Post 2482 of St. Clair, MO.
