Obituary
Roy Wendell Hilton of St. Clair, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Town and Country, MO, having reached the age of sixty-six years, six months and twenty days. Roy was born in Sikeston, MO, on June 2, 1943, son of Lee Roy Hilton and Edith Hilton nee Sneed. Roy was married as a young man and was blessed to have six children.

Roy is survived by his special friend, Janet Smith, of St. Clair, by one son, Ted Hilton and wife, Jane, of Kansas City, MO; by one daughter, Candy Newsham Hilton, of St. Clair, by eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; by nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Edith Hilton; by three sons, Chuck Hilton, Scott Hilton and Shaun Hilton; by one daughter, Cindy Smith; by one brother, Allie Hilton; by two sisters, Nadine Ramsey and Eutrell Wisecarver.

Roy was a Christian of the Baptist faith, believing in the Lord as his Savior. During his working years he was self employed as a dry wall hanger for many years. Roy enjoyed many pastimes like fishing and being in the outdoors. Roy was very conscious of conservation and wanted to preserve nature for generations to come. He loved telling jokes to make others laugh. Above all else, spending time with his family and grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa Roydie” was very important to him and the wonderful memories created will never be forgotten.

A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great and great-great uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family
