Patricia Clifton Huffhines, known to most as Pat, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on September 26, 2015, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, six months and four days. Pat was born in Owensville, MO, on March 22, 1928, daughter of William Earl Posey and Hilda Rose Posey nee Schneider. On October 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Herman Filbert Huffhines, Jr., known to all as Bud, and six children came to bless this union.

Pat is survived by one son, Rodney Huffhines and wife, Donna, of Blackwell, MO; by four daughters, Barbara Crafton and husband, Tony, of Hillsboro, MO, Norma Hassler and husband, Don, of Cedar Hill, MO, Karen Davis and husband, Dale, of Dittmer, MO and Linda Burton and husband, Ed, of St. Clair, MO; by one sister-in-law, Jessie Champion of Granite City, IL; by eleven grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hilda Posey; by her husband, Bud Huffhines; by one son, Dennis Huffhines; and by two sisters, Violet Durbin and Iona Posey.

Pat was a Christian and member of New Hope Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. She had made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. She was a great mom, always putting the needs of her family above her own. In later years, as she had more time for herself, she enjoyed embroidery and quilting and many of her handmade items will now become treasured family heirlooms. She was an avid reader and loved watching the Cardinal baseball games. Pat's grandchildren were her pride and joy and each of them was special to her.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. John Pursley officiating. Committal services were held at 11;15 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Sullivan, MO.
