On May 15, 1966, she was united in marriage to Edward Lee Self and three children came to bless this union.

Diana is survived by her daughters, Bernadette Royal and fiancé, W. L. Walters, of Rolla, MO and Lorrie Mahan and husband, James, of Pacific, MO; by one son, Edward Lee Day and wife, Tina, of the state of California; by one brother, Louis Schuesler and wife, Pat, of Los Gatos, CA; by one sister, Elaine Klingman and companion, Roger, of Rocklin, CA; by her sister-in-law, Margie Luis of San Jose, CA; by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Diana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva and Tony Luis; by her husband, Edward Self; and by one brother, Ernest Luis.

Diana was a Christian of the Seventh Day Advent faith. As a young woman, she was employed as a certified nurses’ aide in the nursing home industry. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests in her younger years. She was an avid reader and loved doing various crafts. She enjoyed doing embroidery and was a talented seamstress. Her girls were proud to wear the many clothes she had made for them. Crocheting was another of her pastimes and her many handmade afghans will be keepsakes for years to come. After she lost her eye sight, she became active in the Blind Federation. In recent years, nothing made her happier than spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Windows to the West, Budget Lodging, St. Clair, MO. Services were held at 5:30 PM with the Rev. John Dover officiating.
