Obituary
OBITUARY

Debra Kay Benton of Union, MO, formerly of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on June 1, 2015, having reached the age of fifty-six years, four months and twelve days. Debra was born in Washington, MO, on January 20, 1959, daughter of Roscoe Walter Drennen and Clara Frances Drennen nee Jenkins. On July 1, 1976, she was united in marriage to Donnie Ray Benton and two children came to bless this union.

Debra is survived by her former husband and companion, Donnie Benton of Union, MO; by her son Danny Ray Benton and wife, Patsy, of Beaufort, MO; by her daughter, Michelle Vogelsang and husband, Joe, of Berger, MO; by ten grandchildren, Danny R. Benton, Jr., Michael Benton, Zachary Banderman, Caleb Benton, Dallas Benton and Thomas Coxie, all of Beaufort, MO and Tyler, Kristopher, Brookelynn and Keagan Vogelsang, all of Berger; by two brothers, John Drennen and wife, Shirley, of St. Clair, MO, and Michael R. Drennen and wife, Miki, of St. Clair; by one sister, Shirley Whitley and husband, Art, of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Clara Drennen; by two brothers, Ronald Drennen and infant Joseph Drennen; and by two sisters, Patsy Brown and Peggy Bigley.

Debra was a Christian and believed in the Lord as her Savior. She made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. Debra was a very good cook and was happiest when all of her family was gathered around her table. She had a bright mid and kept sharp by working crossword puzzles. What brought her the most joy was making her family happy and spending time with her grandchildren; as each of them held a special place in her heart, just as she did in their hearts. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will never be forgotten.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Fern Nye officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
