Daniel David Arban of St. Clair, MO, departed this life on Monday December 7, 2009, in Washington, MO, having reached the age of ninety-six years, one month and twenty-six days. Daniel was born in Catawissa, MO, on October 11, 1913, son of Maurice Celeste Arban and Dora Irene Arban nee Owen. On October 7, 1960, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Marie Harkey nee Blake.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Myrtle Arban of St. Clair; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends..
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Dora Arban; by one brother, Owen Maurice Arban; and by two sisters, Celeste Arban and Irene Land..
Daniel was a Christian and as a young man, was a member of Calvey Baptist Church in Robertsville. In recent years, he attended Rock Hill Community Church in Stanton, MO. During his working years, Daniel was employed for the Deb Shoe Company as a shipping and receiving clerk, retiring after about twenty-five years of service. He was an outdoors man at heart and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Cutting his grass on his riding mower and caring for his animals were other favorite pastimes. Daniel also enjoyed traveling and cherished the time shared with Myrtle..
A kind and loving husband, uncle, great and great-great uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him..
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2009, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Leroy Ness and Sister Linda Foster officiating. Interment was in Calvey Church Cemetery, Robertsville, MO.
