Carl Richard Fritz, Sr., of Bourbon, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on December 25, 2014, having reached the age of seventy-seven years, five months and nineteen days. Carl was born in St. Clair, MO, on July 6, 1937, son of Jess Sylvester Fritz and Opal Demore Fritz nee Nappier. On November 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ida May Isgriggs and four children came to bless this union.

Carl is survived by his wife, Ida May Fritz of Washington, MO; by his children, Sheena Baughman of Bourbon, MO, Steven Fritz and wife, Karen, of Bourbon, Barbie Tyler and husband, Toby, of Franklin, TN and Carl R. Fritz, Jr. and wife, Tracey, of Leslie, MO; by two brothers, Royce Fritz and wife, Sharon, of Potosi, MO and Donnie Fritz of St. Louis, MO; by two sisters, Dorothy Immekus of Conroe, TX and Sharon Volner of Bismarck, MO; by twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Opal Fritz; by an infant sister, Wilma Fritz; and by one great-grandchild, Carter Fritz.

Carl was a Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Leasburg, MO. As a young man he worked in commercial construction until he was injured and unable to work. Carl was a family man and a great cook. He loved preparing Sunday dinners for his family and many wonderful memories were created as they gathered around the table. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and even prepared his game. He was always willing to lend a helping hand in the care of his grandchildren and was happiest when they were all around. In recent years, he enjoyed watching the food network on television.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend; he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. David Gargus officiating. Interment was in Virginia Mines Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
