Maryanne Frances Kloppenberg of Union, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on November 19, 2009, having reached the age of eighty-eight years and eighteen days. Maryanne was born in St. Louis, MO on November 1, 1921, daughter of John Francis Mockler and Anne Elizabeth Mockler nee Gleason. On February 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Wilbur John Kloppenberg and one son came to bless his union.
Maryanne is survived by her son, David Kloppenberg and wife, Roxanna, of Union; by one sister, Patricia Humphrey of Little Rock, AR; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Maryanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anne Mockler; by her husband, Wilbur Kloppenberg; and by one brother, John “Jack” Mockler.
Maryanne was a Christian and had been raised in the Catholic faith. She had made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. In more recent years, she enjoyed playing bingo and watching Wheel of Fortune and her favorite “soap” operas. Above all else, Maryanne enjoyed spending time with her son and family and cherished the love and joy they shared.
A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The Kloppenberg family was served by the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Private committal services will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the T.I.P. Hospice.
