OBITUARY

Raymond Paul Hensen of Dittmer, MO departed this life at his home in Dittmer on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, having reached the age of seventy-one years, three months and twenty-five days. Raymond was born in St. Louis, MO on August 1, 1942, son of Paul Bernard Hensen and Ruby Lorain Hensen nee Copeland. On July 2, 1960 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Turnbough and two children came to bless this union.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Barbara Hensen of Dittmer, MO; by his son, Kelly Ray Hensen of Cedar Hill, MO; by his daughter, Tina Darnell and husband, Larry, of House Springs, MO; by three grandchildren, Linda Rodgers and husband, Darren, of Cedar Hill, Angela Shipman and husband, Jeremy, of Pacific, MO and Savannah Hensen of Pacific; by his very dear friend, Neal Turnbough; by three great-grandchildren, Lily, Autumn and Quinn; by brothers and sisters-in-law, one nephew, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruby Hensen; and by his sister, Linda Helems.

During Raymondís working career, he was employed as a painter for General Metals and Enameling in St. Louis, MO, where he retired from after thirty-eight years of service. He was also a long time member of Elkís Lodge #2678 in Cedar Hill, MO. Raymond had a variety of interests and hobbies throughout his life including riding and raising horses, putting up hay, farming and gardening. He had a special passion for hunting and fishing. What meant most to him though was time spent with his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, as he did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Elkís Lodge #2678 in Cedar Hill, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. The family of Raymond Paul Hensen was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
