OBITUARY

Helen Ann Lowe of Union, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on November 8, 2013, having reached the age of seventy years, five months and two days. Helen was born in Holstein, MO, on June 6, 1943, daughter of John Charles Lewis, Sr. and Irene Nea Lewis nee Wright. As a young woman she was married and blessed to have four children.

Helen is survived by her children, Reuben K. Lowe, Jr. and wife, Sheila, of Middletown, MO, Kevin Ray Lowe and wife, Pam, of Union, MO, Teresa Irene Reeser of St. Clair, MO and Joyce Summers and husband, Orvil, of Villa Ridge, MO; by two brothers, John Charles Lewis, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Washington, MO and Bob Lewis and wife, Debbie, of Wright City, MO; by one sister, Betty Czechin of Fenton, MO; by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John, Sr. and Irene Lewis; by five sisters, Margaret Gueltzau, Catherine Schreckengast, Evelyn Lewis, Mildred Lewis and Mary Trusty; and by one brother, Charles Edward Lewis.

Helen was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the Lord as her Savior. She had a variety of interests and hobbies throughout her life including crocheting, doing macramé and sewing. Helen also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Caring for her family was Helen’s mission in life and she never tired of her job. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her, holding a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all.

A loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great, great-great and great-great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Jim Armistead officiating.

A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
