OBITUARY

Gisela Kay Mayberry of Lonedell, MO, departed this life in Lonedell on May 24, 2013, having reached the age of eighty-two years, three months and seventeen days. Gisela was born in Leipheim, Germany on February 7, 1931, daughter of Johann Zoller and Elizabeth Zoller nee Wirth. On December 30, 1953 she was united in marriage to Thomas James Mayberry and two sons came to bless this union.

Gisela is survived by her sons, Thomas John Mayberry and wife, Robbin, of Grubville and Andrew W. Mayberry and wife, Jeanne, of Dittmer, MO; by two grandchildren, Diane Mayberry of Lonedell, MO and Nicholas Mayberry of Grubville; by three step-grandchildren, Anthony, Shannon and Keith; by three brothers, Wolfgang Kaufmann and wife, Rosie, of Palm Springs, CA, Gunther Kaufmann of Weisbaden, Germany and Heinrich Kaufmann of Leiphein, Germany; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Gisela was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Elizabeth Zoller; and by her husband, Thomas Mayberry.

Gisela was of the Lutheran faith and past member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO. In younger years, Gisela lived in the St. Louis area, during which time she was employed as the Mater Dei at the House of Merit Restaurant, retiring after fifteen years of services. After their retirement, Gisela and her family moved to the Lonedell, MO area. She loved spending time outdoors and still enjoyed cutting her grass. Her dog was her constant companion as she worked out in her yard. She was a talented cook and enjoyed having all her family around the dinner table. Nothing made Gisela happier than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Many wonderful memories have been created and will be cherished by them all.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Glenn Hammond officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date at Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
