Alfred Roy Sholults, Sr.
Alfred Roy Shoults, Sr. of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on December 28, 2012, having reached the age of fifty-six years, eleven months and twenty-seven days. Alfred was born in De Soto, MO on January 1, 1956, son of Roy Ralph Shoults and Lena Alice Shoults nee Merseal. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. In later years, he was united in marriage to Vivian Marie Boyer.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Vivian Shoults, of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Alfred Shoults, Jr., of Sullivan, MO; by his step-children, Anthony Dvorak and fiancÚ , Patricia, of Sullivan and Susan Howard of Festus, MO; by his brother, Gregory Shoults, of the state of CA; by his sisters, Sharon Shoults of De Soto, MO and Glenda Shoults of St. Clair; by his grandson, Bradley Davidson of Festus; and by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lena Shoults.
Alfred was a Christian and believed in the Lord as his Savior. He was a proud member and retiree of Laborers Local 718, which has since been consolidated into Laborers Local 110, of St. Louis, MO. He was employed by Fred Weber Construction for over twenty-five years, where he worked as a laborer on road construction projects. Alfred had a variety of hobbies and interests throughout his life including doing just about anything outdoors, although hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. He loved to bake and his family always looked forward to eating his great pies and cakes at holidays. Most of all, Alfred loved time spent with his family, and the many precious memories they created will be cherished by them forever.
A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sullivan, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date. The family of Alfred Shoults, Sr. was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO.
