Karen Jean Scott of Steelville, MO, departed this life in Chesterfield, MO on December 22, 2012, having reached the age of seventy years, ten months and twenty-nine days. Karen was born in St. Louis, MO on January 23, 1942, daughter of Raymond Edward Runge and Anna Jean Runge nee King. As a young woman she was blessed to have two children.
Karen is survived by her children, Charles Scott of Sullivan, MO and Amanda Davis and husband, Jason, of Florissant, MO; by three brothers, Gerald Runge and wife, Pat, of Clermont, FL, David Runge and wife, Anna, of Bloomington, IL and Mark Runge and wife, Mary, of O’Fallon, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Anna Runge.
Karen was a Christian and member of Villa Ridge Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, MO. During her working years, she was an executive secretary for Gabriel Communications in Chesterfield, MO, where she was employed for many years. Karen had a variety of interests and hobbies throughout her life but knitting was her real passion Her many beautiful hand-made pieces will forever be family heirlooms. She was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed the view from her home, where she spent time watching the eagles from her window. Most important to Karen was time spent with her family, and the many wonderful memories they shared will be cherished by them forever.
A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A private committal will take place at a later date. The family of Karen Scott was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
