OBITUARY

James Patrick Davis, known to all as Butch, of Lonedell, MO departed this life at his home in Lonedell, on Thursday, October 11, 2012, having reached the age of sixty-six years, five months and twenty-six days. Butch was born in Lonedell, MO on April 15, 1946, son of James Lee Davis and Delma Davis nee Hensley. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have two sons.

Butch is survived by his sons, Richard Davis and wife, Pam, of Owasso, OK and Scott Davis of Lonedell., MO; by four grandchildren, Brock Dronet of Erath, LA and Gabrielle, R.J. and Matthew Davis of Owasso, OK; by his companion, Thelma Turnbough and her son, Chris Potter, of Lonedell; by two brothers, Raymond Davis of Richwoods, MO and Joe Davis and wife, Rita, of St. Clair, MO; by his brother-in-law, George Stahlman of Potosi, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, James and Delma Davis; by one brother, Bill Davis; and by his sister, Carolyn Stahlman.

Butch was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. For most of his working career, Butch owned and operated Davis Construction in Lonedell, MO. He had built many homes and done many projects in the Lonedell area as well as other areas in Franklin county. Butch had a variety of interests and pastimes throughout his life; including gardening, hunting and fishing. His keen sense of humor and wit will be missed by all who knew him. What meant most to Butch was time spent with his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, as he did in their hearts. The many wonderful memories they shared will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving companion, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery in Lonedell, MO with the Rev. Chauncey Clay officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The Davis family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
