OBITUARY

Marie Ilene Miller of Richmond, MO, formerly St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Richmond, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, having reached the age of eighty-eight years, nine months and twelve days. Marie was born in Dixon, MO on August 17, 1923, daughter of Stephen Jeremiah Taylor and Belle Taylor nee Brown. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. On October 25, 1975 she was united in marriage to Henry Joseph Miller.

Marie is survived by her son, Michael Brown and wife, Kathy, of Richmond, MO; by her three grandchildren, Michael Guyton of St. Clair, MO, Kenneth Charles Brown and wife, Amanda, of St. Clair and Ashley Brown of Richmond; by one brother, Kenneth Taylor and wife, Mary, of St. Clair; by one sister, Olive Collins of Sullivan, MO; by one great-grandchild, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Belle Taylor; by her husband, Henry Miller; by two brothers, Steve Taylor and Harold Taylor, Sr.; and by five sisters, Myrna Gudermuth, Rose Sutterfield, Delma Taylor, Sylvia Duncan and Beulah Hawkins.

Marie was a Christian and member of Canaan Land Ministries in St. Clair, MO. She faithfully read her Bible every day. She lived in the St. Clair area throughout most of her life and retired from the International Shoe Company in St. Clair. After her retirement she enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends at the St. Clair Senior Center. After moving to Richmond, she attended the Richmond Senior Center. Marie had enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life, especially quilting. She was a great cook and liked gardening and raising all kinds of flowers. Nothing made her happier than the time shared with her son and his family and each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Fern Nye officiating. Interment was in the United Methodist Cemetery in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, MO.
