Stephen Wayne Williams, known to most as Steve, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home in St. Clair on May 23, 2012, having reached the age of sixty-two years, eleven months and twenty-two days. Steve was born on June 1, 1949, son of Bill Dulworth and Gloria Sherline Dulworth nee Lewis. In later years, he was adopted by Arthur Henry Williams, known to many as Buggs. On April 24, 1971, he was united in marriage to Marianne Roedemeier and one son came to bless this union.

Steve is survived by his wife, Marianne Williams of St. Clair; by his son, Ian Williams and wife, Lacy, of St. Clair; by his grandson, Cannon F. Williams of St. Clair; by his mother-in-law, Faye Roedemeier of St. Clair; by his great-aunt, Ruby Gaasch of St. Clair; by his siblings, Billy Joe Williams of St. Clair, Kevin Williams and wife, Rhonda, of St. Clair and Lynne Huff of St. Clair; by his brother-in-law, Jahn Roedemeier of Overland Park, KS; by his half siblings, David Dulworth of Potosi, MO and Lisa Reagan of Fredericktown, MO; by step-sisters Susan Leggett of St. Louis, MO and Nancie Gildehaus of St. Clair; by aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Steve was preceded in death by biological father, Bill Dulworth; by his father, Arthur “Buggs” Williams; and by his mother, Gloria Williams Reed.

Steve was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was a thirty-five year member and retiree of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 27 of St. Louis, MO. He was also a member and past officer of the St. Clair Elk’s Lodge 2651 in St. Clair. Steve had lived in the St. Clair area throughout most of his life, graduating from St. Clair High School, where he had been very involved in playing both basketball and softball. After school he continued to play on the town basketball team. In recent years, he enjoyed playing golf and bowling on a league at Oasis Lanes in Union, MO. Steve was patriotic and often fellowshipped with his many friends at American Legion Post 347 in St. Clair. Above all else, his new little grandson, Cannon, was his pride and joy. Nothing made Steve happier than spending time with his wife and family and many wonderful memories have been created.

A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, half brother, step-brother, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services were held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Harold Lumley officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
