OBITUARY

Saundra Clyde Clinton of St. Clair, MO, formerly Murray, KY, departed this life in St. Louis, MO, on Monday, April 9, 2012, having reached the age of fifty-nine years, ten months and eight days. Saundra was born in Murray, KY on June 1, 1952, daughter of U.S. Lamb and Mildred Louise Lamb nee Hopkins. As a young woman she was blessed to have two children.

Saundra is survived by her sons, Anthony “Tony” Clinton and fianceé, Lisa Hester, of Murray, KY and Christopher Clinton of Dittmer, MO; by her step-daughter, Tammy Clinton and boyfriend, Mike, of St. Clair, MO; by her former daughter-in-law, Juanita Clinton of St. Clair; by her brother, Gary Lamb of Murray, KY; by eight grandchildren, Amber, Kealy and Carlee Clinton all of Murray, Faith, Hope and Gracie Clinton of St. Clair, Amanda Winters of Bourbon, MO and Daniel Hoke of Sullivan, MO; one great-grandchild, Annabella Winters of Bourbon; one nephew, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Saundra was preceded in death by her parents, U.S. Lamb and Mildred Lamb Dodd; and by her step-father, Ronald “Sonny” Dodd.

Saundra was a Christian and member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Almo, KY. During her working years she was employed for about eight years by Fisher Price Corporation in Murray, KY, as a forklift driver in the toy factory. She enjoyed many past times throughout her life including various arts and crafts and painting on rocks. Saundra also wrote beautiful poetry and had a very keen sense of humor. Nothing meant more to her than her children and especially her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Ganny Clyde”. The many wonderful memories created with Saundra will forever hold a special place in the hearts of them all.

A kind and loving mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and cousin, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Wells officiating. Interment was in Cove Cemetery in St. Clair, MO.
