OBITUARY

Robert Allen Pfeiffer, known to most as Bob, of St. Clair, MO, known to most as Bob, departed this life at his home in St. Clair, surrounded by the love of his family, on December 3, 2011, having reached the age of seventy-seven years, four months and two days. Bob was born in Marshfield, MO on August 1, 1934, son of Gustave Adolph Pfeiffer, known to all as Adolph, and Martha Esther Pfeiffer nee Jameson, known to all as Esther. On January 1, 1956 he was united in marriage to Lola Mae Manion and four children came to bless this union.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lola Pfeiffer, of St. Clair; by his four children, Laura Pierce and husband, Joe, of St. Clair, Mark Pfeiffer and wife, Carol, of St. Clair, Melinda Varner and husband, Larry, of St. Clair and Fred Pfeiffer and wife, Kelly, of St. Clair; by two sisters, Rose Young of St. Louis, MO and Lorine Gintz of Marshfield, MO; by ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Esther Pfeiffer; by one brother, Fred Pfeiffer; and by four sisters, Alynne Brown, Louise Hawkins, Lucille Sell and Susan Singer.

Bob was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair. During his working career, Bob was employed by Frisco Railroad for ten years, Reed Oil Company for seven years and Tamper Corporation in Columbia, SC, where he retired after twenty-two years of service. Bob loved to read and study his Bible. Walking in Orchard Park and visiting with fellow walkers was a favorite pastime. He also loved going fishing and hunting and working in his vegetable garden. Most of all, he held dear the time spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and the precious memories they had created will forever be cherished by them all.

A kind, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Jim Collins officiating. Interment was at Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice in Chesterfield, MO.
