Raymond Arthur Heller, Sr., of St. Clair, MO, formerly St. Louis, MO, departed this life at his daughter’s home, surrounded by the love of his family, on November 22, 2010, having reached the age of seventy-five years, eight months and thirteen days. Ray was born in St. Louis on March 9, 1935, son of Henry Joseph Heller and Emma Heller nee Gierse. As a young man, he was united in marriage and blessed to have two children. On April 16, 1988, he was united in marriage to Sally Ann Loesch and they were blessed to have eleven years together.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Teresa Baumruk and husband, Bill, of St. Clair; by his son, Raymond A. Heller, Jr. of Montgomery City, MO; by three grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Baumruk of St. Clair and Charles Heller of Montgomery City; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Heller; by his wife, Sally Heller; by one brother, Edward Heller; and by one sister Marie Heller.

Ray was a Christian and past member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Ferguson, MO. He later years, he enjoyed attending a Baptist church. He was proud to have served his country during the Korean War, entering July 29, 1953 and receiving his honorable discharge on July 10, 1957. He was a police officer by profession and had been employed at several precincts in the St. Louis area during his twenty year career. He had enjoyed many hobbies and interests during his life and in recent years had remained an avid reader and loved playing the game of Sudoku with his family. Ray’s grandchildren were his pride and joy and he cherished the last four years he was able to live with them.

A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Friday, November 26, 2010 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair. Graveside services were held at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with the Rev. Jeff Bapst officiating.
