Dale Glenn Sullinger, Sr. of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, having reached the age of eighty-four years, ten months and three days. Dale was born in St. Louis, MO on November 4, 1936, son of Glenn Elbert Sullinger and Mayme Marie Sullinger nee Hassler. On October 13, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Freie and two children came to bless this union. On October 28, 1982 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Lavern Jenkins.

Dale is survived by his son, Dale Sullinger, Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Robertsville, MO; by his daughter, Sharon Fischer and husband, Mike, of Marthasville, MO; by one brother, Bob Sullinger and wife, Kim, of Summerfield, FL; by one sister, Irmadean Pipkins of St. Louis, MO; by seven grandchildren, Amanda Fox and husband, Matthew, of St. Clair, MO, Hollie York of Pacific, MO, Cassie Caldwell and husband, Sam, of Lynn, MO, Kirstie Sullinger of St. Clair, Jessica Dendauw and husband, Jonathan, of Marthasville, Jackie Hardin and husband, Scott, of Watertown, NY and Michael Fischer, Jr. of New Haven, MO; by eight great-grandchildren, Britty, Lola, Halen, Oliver, Vincent, Liam, Lola and Finn; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mayme Sullinger; by his wives, Dorothy Sullinger and Geraldine Sullinger; by two brothers, Kenneth Sullinger and Terry Sullinger; by one sister, Geraldine Miller; and by one grandson, Dale Glenn Sullinger, III, known to all as Brother.

Dale was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy, entering on October 14, 1954 and receiving his honorable discharge on September 12, 1957. During his working career he was employed by General Motors Corporation, first as a shop steward and then as an inspector, retiring after thirty years of service. He was also a past member of the Masonic lodge in St. Clair, MO. He was a true craftsman that enjoyed rebuilding old cars, and had at one time rebuilt the old St. Clair Fire Truck. Dale also enjoyed tinkering with things, collecting coins, watching old western movies and watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
