OBITUARY

Gladys Ann Edwards of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on April 6, 2021, having reached the age of ninety-one years, five months and sixteen days. Gladys was born in Monette, AR, on October 20, 1929, daughter of Ray Page and Lola Page nee Tulse. On August 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert Marion Edwards and four children came to bless this union.

Gladys is survived by her children, Robert M. Edwards, Jr. and life companion, Donna Haner, of Mt. Juliet, TN and Terry Edwards and wife, Jackie, of Hillsboro, MO, Kim Viessman of St. Clair, MO and Cindy Edwards of Union, MO; by five grandchildren, Robert S. Edwards of Washington, MO, Crystal Newbold of St. Clair, Taylor Cokley and husband, Trevor, of St. Clair, Timothy Edwards of Hillsboro and Colbie Viessman and wife, Morgan, of Lonedell, MO; by five great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lola Page; by her husband, Robert Edwards, Sr., and by her sister, Gloria Zelenko.

She was an active member of the church as long as her health allowed and she enjoyed serving on the kitchen committee for many years. During her working career, she was employed by Belmont Furniture Company in St. Clair as a bookkeeper for over twenty years. She was an avid reader and loved to entertain family and friends. Gladys was devoted to caring for her home and family and cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The love they shared and many wonderful memories they created will forever live on in their hearts.

A loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 9, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Kitchen Fund, St. Clair, MO.
