Clyde V. Courtway 1944 – 2021

Clyde V. Courtway, 76, Union, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2021 in St. Clair, MO. Mr. Courtway was born on August 3, 1944 in Richwoods, MO to Raymond A. Courtway Sr. and Corene A. Courtway (Nee- Courtoise).

He is survived by three daughters, Stacie Eilers and husband Alan of Union, Shelly Reed and husband Arthur of Union, Christine Julius and husband Scott of Lonedell. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren with one due to arrive in March 2021. Brothers Raymond “Shorty” Courtway and wife Lorraine of Union, William “Bill” Courtway and wife Lucy of Sullivan and Lawrence Courtway of Union. Sisters Joyce Todaro and husband Tony and Geraldine Briggs of Union. Brother and Sister In-laws; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many, many friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Clarence Courtway, Mike Courtway, Joseph Courtway, Henry Courtway and infant David Courtway. Sisters Mildred Fox, Lorna Revelle and Mary Turntine.

Before retiring Clyde worked as a truck driver in Peoria, IL, Short Run Boxes, Union, MO as well as Esselte in Union, MO.

Clyde loved to visit family and friends and enjoyed shooting a game of pool, playing cards and on occasion he could even be found singing karaoke. Other favorite past times were being in the woods hunting or at the lake fishing with friends and family.

Private services to be held at a later date with family and friends. Interment will be at Horine Cemetery in Richwoods, MO. The Courtway family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair. MO.
