OBITUARY

Eva Loretta Busse, known to all as Loretta, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on February 12, 2021, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, nine months and eight days. Loretta was born in Stanton, MO, on May 4, 1933, daughter of Miles Washington Leath and Anna Pearl Leath nee Adams. On January 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harry Edward Busse and nine children came to bless this union.

Loretta is survived by four sons, Willard Busse of St. Clair, MO, Daniel Busse and wife, Lynette, of Sullivan, MO, Gary Busse and wife, Kathy, of St. Clair and Donald Busse of St. Clair; by four daughters, Linda Busse and significant other, Dennis Gilbert, of Doolittle, MO, Sharon Meyer and husband, Mark, of Washington, MO, Karen Blum and husband, Ron, of St. Clair and Donna Busse of St. Clair; by twenty-two grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Anna Leath; by her husband, Harry Busse, Sr.; by one son, Harry E. Busse, Jr.; by her brothers, James, Richard and Miles Leath, and by her sisters, Marie Mann, Dorothy Voorheis and infants Caroline and Rebecca Leath.

Loretta was a Christian and past member of Duly Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO, current member of New Chapel Hill Church, Sullivan, MO and had been attending Grace Baptist Church, Union, MO. She made caring for her home and family her career in life and never tired of her job. She was a talented seamstress that loved to sew. Making quilts and quilting was another of her pastimes. Loretta also loved to cook and bake for her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Dick Hinson officiating. Interment was in Anaconda Community Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 7145 Hwy 47, Union, MO 63084.
