Kathryn was born in St. Clair on July 16, 1923, daughter of Eugene Benjamin Hansel and Clara Belle Hansel nee Hults. On December 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to William James Saling, known to most as Bill, and seven children came to bless this union.

Kathryn was a Christian and longtime devoted member of Parkway Church of the Nazarene in St. Clair, MO. She was very active in the church, teaching Sunday School and serving on the church board for about forty years. Kathryn also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. As a young woman, she was employed at International Shoe Company in St. Clair, MO. After her marriage to Bill, she made caring for her home and family her career in life. Kathryn loved growing flowers, sewing and shopping. She also was an avid reader. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and held a very special place in her heart. Her kind and sweet disposition is something they will never forget. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all.

A kind, sweet and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, aunt, great, great-great and great-great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
