OBITUARY

Katherine Ann Sohn, known to most as Kathy, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Louis, MO, on January 11, 2021, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, four months and three days. Kathy, was born in St. Louis, MO, on September 8, 1942, daughter of Clarence Farmer and Catherine Ann Farmer nee Bakersmith. On June 27, 1980, she was united in marriage to Bobby Ray Sohn and their families were joined as one.

Kathy is survived by four sons, Douglas Vossbrink and wife, Vicki, of Port Orchard, WA, Duane Vossbrink and wife, Christina, of Meramec, NH, Marty Sohn of Sullivan, MO and David Sohn and wife, Jamie, of St. Louis, MO; by two daughters, Dana Dougherty and husband, Donald, of St. Clair, MO, and Donna Brantley and husband, Glenn, of Houston, TX; by her sisters-in-law, Erma Farmer of Sullivan, MO, Doris Dierker of St. Clair, MO and Deanne Sohn of St. Clair, MO; by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Farmer and Catherine Ann Farmer Hayes; by her husband, Bobby Ray Sohn; by her step-father, Clarence Hayes; by her daughter, Bonnie Sohn; by her brother, Clarence E. Sohn, and by one grandson, Eric Michaud.

Kathy was a Christian and member of Real Life Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career, she was employed as a set-up operator for a local gear manufacturing company. In recent years, she volunteered at Victorian Manor, enjoying the fellowship with the people there. She loved keeping up with her friends with her phone. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding horses. She loved to read, especially mystery books, go to the casino and buying “scratchers”. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and kept a beautiful lawn and garden. Putting up Christmas lights and decorations always brought her special joy. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services were held at 6:30 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Scott Stroup officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date at Anaconda Community Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Real Life Church in St. Clair, MO.
