Edith Mae Parks of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on November 20, 2020, having reached the age of eighty-two years and three months. Edith was born in Leslie, MO, on August 20, 1938, daughter of Thomas W. Armistead and Lula Dell Armistead nee Cox. ON November 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Rolla Walter Parks and two children came to bless this union.

Edith is survived by two grandsons, Bradley Wideman of Sullivan, MO and Brian Wideman of St. Louis, MO; by two sisters, Mary Ackerman and husband, Bill, of Sullivan and Alice Witt of Farmington, MO; by one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lula Armistead; by her husband, Rolla Parks; by her children, Glenn Parks and Rhonda Wideman; by two brothers, Henry and Robert Armistead, and by four sisters, Helen Starks, Hazel Brown and two infant sisters.

Edith was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior. She had most recently attended the Faith Assembly of God Church in Sullivan, MO. From 1991 to 2002, she had been employed as a nurses’ assistant at Happy Acres retirement home in Stanton, MO. For several years, she had been a member of the Anaconda Cemetery Board. Caring for her home and family had always been Edith’s first priority. She enjoyed gardening, raising beautiful flowers. Preserving the produce that Rolla raised in their garden was another of her pastimes. Edith was a great cook and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Her grandsons were truly her pride and joy and she cherished the time she spent with them.

A devoted and loving grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Anaconda Cemetery, St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating. Memorials may be made to the cemetery. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO.
