OBITUARY

Garrett Benjamin Kennedy of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Lonedell, MO, on July 12, 2020, having reached the age of twenty-eight years, three months and ten days. Garrett was born in St. Louis, MO, on April 2, 1992, son of Jessica Darnel Zack and Brad Wideman. In later years, he was adopted by Keith Benjamin Kennedy. He was blessed to have four children.

Garrett is survived by his mother, Jessica Ivie and husband, Jason, of St. Clair, MO; by his fathers, Brad Wideman and Keith Kennedy, both of St. Clair; by his children, Mia, Annabella, Matthew and Kamdyn Kennedy; by his grandparents, Linda Henderson of St. Clair, Robert Zack and wife, Norma, of Arnold, MO, Mary Wideman of St. Clair and Sue Kennedy Bolte and husband, Robert, of St. Clair; by his step-grandparents, Red Ivie and wife, Karen, of Bourbon, MO and Jackie Johnson of St. Clair; by his girlfriend, December Martin of St. Clair; by his brothers, Erik Kennedy, and Tanner and Wales Wideman, all of St. Clair; by his sister, Madison Kennedy of St. Clair; by his step-siblings, Robert and Mia Ivie of St. Clair; by one niece, aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.

Garrett was preceded in death by his brother, Korey Kennedy, and by three grandparents, Clarence Kennedy, Jay Henderson and Robert Wideman.

Garrett was a Christian and had visited both Roots Church in St. Clair and 1st Christian Church in Union, MO. He was employed as a sheet metal fabricator and co-owner of Wideman Seamless Guttering in St. Clair, MO for the past twelve years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Garrett also loved to ride motorcycles and shoot targets. Going to the gym and working out was another of his passions. What meant most to him was time spent with his family and children. His family was his pride and joy and the many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving son, step-son, father, grandson, step-grandson, brother, step-brother, uncle, nephew, great-nephew, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Charles Keith and the Rev. Jason Gaszak officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Jessica Ivie for the care of Garrett’s children.
