Hazel Berniece Schoeneman of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on May 21, 2020, having reached the age of ninety-four years, two months and twenty-five days. Hazel was born in Lonedell, MO, on February 26, 1926, daughter of Thomas Marvin Huff and Ossie Cleo Huff nee Carter. On February 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Charles Schoeneman and two children came to bless this union.

Hazel is survived by one daughter, Charlene Cox of St. Clair, MO; by four grandchildren, Charlie Joe Cox and wife, Lynn, of Villa Ridge, MO, Wesley Cox and wife, Donna, of Leslie, MO, Angie Bailey and husband, Jason, of Luebbering, MO and Jessica Godfrey and husband, John, of St. Clair; by three siblings, Melvin Huff and wife, Mary Lou, of Lonedell, MO, Helen Moraga of CA and Pamela Bachmann of St. Clair; by twelve great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ossie Huff; by her husband, Robert Schoeneman; by her son, Billy Jo Schoeneman, by her son-in-law, David Cox, and by four siblings, Robert Huff, Lorraine Huff, Donna Stahlman and Marvin Huff.

Hazel was a Christian and lifelong member of Prospect Baptist Church, Lonedell, MO. During her working years, she was in employed at International Shoe Company in St. Clair and later at Brown Shoe Company in Union, MO, retiring after twenty-five years of working in the industry. Caring for her home and family was her passion and she never tired of the job. She loved to work in her yard and garden. Crocheting was another of her pastimes. She enjoyed dogs and her Dachshunds, Petey and Hank, were great companions. Each of her grandchildren were her pride and joy and in her own way, she made each of them feel special.

A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Steve Hodges officiating. Interment was in Anaconda Cemetery, Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to Prospect Baptist Church, Lonedell, MO.
