Jo Ann Watson of Rolla, MO, formerly St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Fenton, MO, on April 27, 2020, having reached the age of fifty-seven years, nine months and fifteen days. Jo Ann was born in St. Louis, MO, on May 12, 1962, daughter of Ray James Watson and Betty Lou Watson nee Tumbleson. As a young woman, she was blessed to have one son. In 1994, she began sharing her life with William J. Messex and they were blessed to have twenty-six years together.

Jo Ann is survived by her significant other, William J. Messex of Rolla, MO; by one son Michael Breeden of Licking, MO; by two sisters, Rose Fenner and husband, Bobby of St. Clair, MO, and Kathy Watson of Rogers, AR; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Betty Watson, and by three sisters, Peggy Brindley, Mary Gordon and Judy Watson.

Jo Ann was a Christian and had been attending the Assembly of God Church in Rolla, MO. She had made caring for her home and family in career in life and she never tired of her job. She was an outgoing person and enjoyed traveling to the Lake of the Ozarks. She had many hobbies and interests but especially liked collecting roosters, dolls and musical memorabilia. Watching old western movies was another of her pastimes. She also liked watching Hee Haw, and singing the theme song and playing arcade games.

A kind and loving significant other, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Lee Vandiver officiating. Private committal at a later date.
