Dorothy Berniece Eads, known to most as Berniece, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Sullivan, MO, on November 23, 2019, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months and twenty-four days. Berniece was born in St. Clair on November 29, 1931, daughter of Wayne Oscar Tate, Sr. and Blanche Lea Tate nee Hemker. On September 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Junior Lewis Eads and two children came to bless this union.

Berniece is survived by her daughter, Shirley Dollins and husband, Calvin, of West Plains, MO; by her son, Ronald Eads and wife, Donna, of St. Clair, MO; by her brother, Wayne Tate, Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Lonedell, MO; by her sister, Pauline Lewis and husband, Harvey, of Independence, KS; by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Blanche Tate, Sr.; by her former husband, Junior Eads, and by her sister, Beulah Gratzer.

Berniece was a Christian and longtime member of the St. Clair United Methodist Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working years she had done various factory work, having worked at International Shoe Company and Deb Shoe Company, both in St. Clair, MO, and retiring from Hazel in Washington, MO. She had enjoyed many pastimes, including sewing and doing crochet. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and rarely missed watching the games. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and many wonderful memories were created.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Fred Miller officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, MO. Memorials may be made to the St. Clair United Methodist Church, St. Clair, MO.
