Roscoe Bailey of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on November 4, 2019, having reached the age of eighty-eight years, one month and twenty-five days. Roscoe was born in St. Clair on September 9, 1931, son of Alexander Bailey and Tressie Bailey nee Key. On May 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Prather and three children came to bless this union.

Roscoe in survived by his wife, Shirley Bailey of St. Clair, MO; by two sons, Ronnie Bailey and wife, JoAnn, of Grubville, MO, and Robbie Bailey of St. Clair; by his son-in-law, Robert Adams of St. Clair; by two sisters, Marie Cox and Nancy Braun both of St. Clair; by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Tressie Bailey; by his daughter, Cathy Adams; by two brothers, Daniel and Albert Lee Bailey, and by one sister, Jewell Bailey.

Roscoe was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was employed by Daimler Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, retiring in 1990 after twenty-three years with the company. He was also a retiree of the United Auto Workers, Local 110 in St. Louis, MO. In his younger years he liked playing softball and basketball. He enjoyed working in his garden and taking care of his home and doing yardwork. He was happies when he was watching the grandchildren play school sports. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. John Hampton, Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund in care of Mt. Zion Church, St. Clair, MO. The family of Roscoe Bailey entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
