OBITUARY
Geraldine Lavern Sullinger, know to most as Dean, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on October 6, 2019, having reached the age of eighty-six years, nine months and twenty-nine days. Dean was born in Advance, MO, on December 7, 1932, daughter of Jack Jenkins and Opal Jenkins nee Flint. On October 28, 1982, she was united in marriage to Dale Glenn Sullinger, Sr. and they were blessed to have four children.
Dean is survived by her husband, Dale Sullinger, Sr. of St. Clair, MO; by her children, Kathy Higgins and husband, Bill, of Lake City, TX, Karen Moss of Lake City, Sharon Fischer and husband, Mike, of Marthasville, MO, and Dale Sullinger, Jr. and wife, Theresa, of St. Clair; by ten grandchildren, Mandy, BJ, Amanda, Hollie, Cassie, Kirstie, Dale, III, Jessie, Jackie and Michael; by one sister, Judy Jackson of Kansas City, MO; by her sister-in-law Eva Jenkins; by many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Dean was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Opal Jenkins; by two brothers, William Jenkins and Donald Jenkins, and by two sisters, Betty Price and Jackie Duffy.
Dean was a Christian, having been raised in the Assembly of God church and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a waitress at various restaurants. She enjoyed being around other people and putting others before herself. She also loved cooking and cleaning and caring for her home and family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and the many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great, great-great and great-great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The family of Geraldine Lavern Sullinger entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
