OBITUARY

Carol Jean Blanda, age eighty-one, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on August 9, 2019. Carol was born in St. Clair on May 4, 1938, daughter of Herbert August Hoffmann and Alverta Pauline Hoffmann nee Calvert. In 1961, she was united in marriage to Leonard Francis Blanda and they were blessed to have twenty years together.

Carol is survived by two sisters, Mary Sue Young, known to all as Suzie, and husband, Alan, of Harrisonville, MO and Norma Shepas and husband, Richard, of Willow Springs, MO; by many nieces and nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by her brother, Derrill Ray Hoffmann, and by her dear friend, Ron Johnson.

She is a member of the St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. She previously had worked as a realtor in Colorado Springs, CO, and enjoyed her interactions with the many people she met. She was a kind and giving person that enjoyed helping others in any way she could. She had enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life. She and her husband had lived in Germany for ten years and had traveled throughout Europe. She was dearly loved by her family and friends for her warm personality. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
