Shelley Renee Hinson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Sullivan, MO, on July 14, 2019, having reached the age of forty-six years, five months and twenty-five days. Shelley was born in Sullivan on January 19, 1973, daughter of David Ralph Thurmond, known to all as Gus, and Wanda Mae Thurmond nee Vest. On August 22, 1992, she was united in marriage to Eric Richard Hinson and two sons came to bless this union.

Shelley is survived by her husband, Eric Hinson of St. Clair, MO; by her sons, Josh Hinson and girlfriend, Meaghan Villhard, of Union, MO, and Tyler Hinson of St. Clair; by her mother, Wanda Thurmond of St. Clair; by her grandmother, Hazel Vest Kommer of St. Clair; by her step-mother-in-law, Marie Johnston Hinson of St. Clair; by her sister-in-law, Cathy Baumann and husband, Steve, of Fenton, MO; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Shelley was preceded in death by her father, Gus Thurmond; by her grandfather, Seldon Kommer; by her parents-in-law, Donald and Iva Hinson, and by her brother-in-law, Mike Hinson.

Shelley was a past member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and had most recently attended Bethel Baptist Church, both in Lonedell, MO. Shelley had lived in the St. Clair area throughout her life, graduating from St. Clair High School. She then attended and graduated from Hickey Business School. She owned and managed Three Sisters Resale and Consignment Shop in Stanton, MO for many years. She enjoyed many hobbies during her life, all which involved her family. Camping with the family, traveling, especially to Key West, FL and going boating at Lake of the Ozarks where some of her favorite pastimes. Her first priority was caring for her home and family and as her boys grew up, she enjoyed watching them participate in school sports. Her family held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will never be forgotten.

A kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, step-daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Ben Kingston officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dick Hinson. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
