Kay was born in St. Clair, MO, on May 23, 1941, daughter of Aaronie Pleasant Short and Mary Lillian Short nee Crow, known to all as Lillian. On July 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Harlan Winford Dixon and three children came to bless this union.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Jill Curry and husband, Dan, of Fenton, MO; by two sons, Neal Dixon and wife, Andrea, and Jim Dixon, all of St. Clair, MO; by one sister, Betty Jean Bergmann and husband, Roland, of St. Clair; by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Aaronie and Lillian Short; by her husband, Harlan Dixon; by one brother, Donald Short, and by one sister, Janet Dickinson.

Kay was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ of Arnold, MO. As a young woman she had been employed at Brown Shoe Company in Union, MO. For most of her life, Kay made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. One of her favorite pastimes was mowing her lawn. She also had a large garden and canned much of the produce she raised. Kay loved to spend time outdoors and going fishing was another of her hobbies. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and many wonderful memories were created.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
