Irene Virginia Wall of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on June 24, 2019, having reached the age of seventy-eight years and seventeen days. Irene was born in Sullivan, MO, on June 7, 1941, daughter of George Cecil Love, Sr. and Velma Maggie Love nee Shadrick. On June 20, 1959, she was united in marriage to James Joseph Wall, known to most as Jim, and two children came to bless this union.

Irene is survived by her husband, Jim Wall of St. Clair, MO; by her son, Craig Wall and wife, Sherry, of St. Clair; by her daughter, Susan Hedrick and husband, Brad, of St. Clair; by her brothers, George C. Love, Jr., known to most as Cecil, and wife, Karen, of St. Clair, Eddie Love and wife, Peggy, of Sullivan, MO, Jackie Love and wife, Laura, of Sullivan and Boyd Love and girlfriend, Sandy Price, of Sullivan; by three sisters, Sharon Liggett and husband, Joe, of Marshall, MO, Vera Quade and husband, Curtis, of St. Clair and Lisa Mann and husband, Steve, of Sullivan; by her grandchildren, Tyler Haanpaa and girlfriend, Brittany Karrer, of Lee’s Summit, MO, Captain Andrew Haanpaa and wife, Sydney, of Columbus, GA, Abbey Hedrick of St. Clair and Connor Wall of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, George, Sr. and Velma Love; by three sisters, Margaret Reed, Dorothy Cates and Betty Jennings, and by her great-grandson, Wyatt Haanpaa.

Irene was a Christian and member of St. Clair United Methodist Church in St. Clair, MO. She made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. Irene was a member of Eastern Star, St. Clair Chapter #96, as well as St. Clair Jaycee Wives. She was a talented painter, an avid reader and enjoyed doing crochet and making ceramics. She also loved to go fishing with the family and hunt Morel mushrooms. What meant most to her was the time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Chaplain Gary Daud officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
