OBITUARY

Russ Darrel Andrews of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on April 6, 2019, having reached the age of seventy-two years and two days. Russ was born in St. Louis, MO, on April 4, 1947, son of Lewis Harvey Andrews and Luda Muriel Andrews nee Willis. On November 3, 1979, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Rucker and two children came to bless this union.

Russ is survived by his wife, Phyllis Andrews, of St. Clair, MO; by his children Daniel Andrews and companion, Brittany Haynes, of St. Clair and Sarah Andrews and fiancÚ, Andrey Maslov, of Seattle, WA; by two grandchildren, Harper and Holden Andrews of St. Clair; by his siblings-in-law, Sue Andrews of St. Peters, MO, Mary Fisher and husband, Kelly, of Anchorage, AK and Linda Rucker of Lonedell, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Luda Andrews, and by one brother, James Andrews.

Russ was a longtime active member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Clair, MO. He was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army, entering February 26, 1968 and receiving his honorable discharge on January 20, 1970. He was a member of VFW Post 2482 of St. Clair. Russ was an entrepreneur and had founded his own company, Dually Drain Pan LLC, which he owned and operated for about fifteen years. He was an environmentalist at heart and member of The Stream Team and The Sierra Club. He was passionate about collecting and restoring antique cars. Traveling and going on road trips were other favorite pastimes. Nothing made him happier than the time spent with his children and grandchildren and many wonderful memories were created.

A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services were held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Laura Mignerone officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ, St. Clair, MO.
