Lorraine Fern Wilhelm of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Creve Coeur, MO, on March 21, 2019, having reached the age of ninety-four years, eight months and nine days. Lorraine was born in St. Louis, MO, on July 12, 1924, daughter of Oscar Arthur Halley and Nora E. Halley nee Beard. As a young woman, she was united in marriage and blessed to have three sons.

Lorraine is survived by two sons, Bruce Wilhelm and wife, Bev, of Imperial, MO, and Carl M. Wilhelm and wife, Kathy, of Festus, MO; by her daughter-in-law, Sandy Wilhelm of Union, MO; by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Nora Halley; by one son, Theodore J. Wilhelm, Jr.; by her brother, Oscar A. Halley, and by her two sisters, Lucille Infeld and Eileen Smith.

Lorraine was a Christian and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career she was employed as a clerical worker at Brown Shoe Company, the Iron Workers Union and most recently at H & R Block. She was a past member of the Navy Mother's Club, supportive of her son's time in the military. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life, including crafting and cooking. She was a talented seamstress, having made many of her clothes. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. John Rhoads. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church's columbarium. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Clair, MO.
