OBITUARY

Flora Gail Sanders, known to all as Wendy, departed this life in Creve Coeur, MO on February 20, 2019, having reached the age of seventy-eight years and fourteen days. Wendy was born in St. Louis, MO on February 6, 1941, daughter of Eddie Levi Sanders and Frances Sanders nee Witt. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have four children.

Wendy is survived by one son, James Thomas of Leasburg, MO; by her daughter, Teresa Thomas of the state of CA; by her brothers, Nolan Sanders and wife, Bea, of St. Clair, MO and Edward W. Sanders, known to all as Eddie, and wife, Donna, of South Haven, MI; by several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Frances Sanders; and by two sons, Michael Hawkins and Leslie Coffman.

Wendy was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a bartender at various establishments in the area. She was an outgoing and fun loving person who enjoyed the company of friends and family and people in general. Wendy loved the outdoors and riding motorcycles. She was a talented artist and singer. She especially loved the companionship of her pet dogs. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will forever live on in their hearts.

A kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services were held at 7:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. John Dover officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Franklin County Humane Society.
